Gina Hofert
Chief Executive Officer
Gina Hofert, MA serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)for the Suda Institute. Specializing in systems-level work, she is responsible for formally organizing the framework that currently operates the SUN Project, a cross-sector system of care for pregnant mothers with substance use disorder across several counties. She has over 20 years’ experience working in healthcare and program management on local, state, and federal projects. Ms. Hofert has published in peer reviewed journals and presented at multiple state and national conferences. As a skilled grant writer, she has helped secure funding for innovative projects using rigorous designs to test efficacy as well as programs using evidence-based interventions. Originally from Costa Rica, she is bilingual in English/Spanish and often works on ensuring programs are culturally and linguistically appropriate. At UNC Charlotte, she graduated from the University Honors Program as an undergraduate student and Summa Cum Laude for her graduate degree. She did a post-graduate program at Brody School of Medicine. Although Ms. Hofert has loved all her professional positions, she considers being a mother her most important role. As a result, she is passionate about helping families achieve health, wellness, and equity in her community.
