
John Middleton

John R. Middleton was the founder and owner of Customer Support Systems, Inc., an IT services provider. He was born and raised in upstate New York before moving to Charlotte to study Electrical Engineering at UNC Charlotte. After graduation, he worked with a company that was involved with developing and maintaining banking machine software before leaving and forming his own company in 1991. He grew the company from a small, local provider of hardware and software sales and maintenance to the corporation it is today, supplying hardware and software to businesses across many sectors.
John is active with the Cabarrus County Amateur Radio Society, and volunteers for communications during local Christmas parades and other events. He is a member of the Kannapolis Community Improvement Committee, which advises the city council on various issues in the city. He has been an elder in the Presbyterian Church and a member of the praise band. He provided pro bono IT services to the USO of North Carolina through Customer Support Systems at all locations across North Carolina for many years in support of the troops.
He loves music, playing classical violin, guitar, and mandolin, among others. He enjoys hiking and photography. He has a passion for travel and treasures many friends throughout the world from past and current trips. He enjoys spending time with his family and giving back to the community.
