The Sounds of Stanly Podcast is a community-centered podcast series created to elevate the voices shaping substance use treatment across Stanly County.
Substance use is a medical condition, and throughout Stanly County it is being met with compassion, trust, and evidence-based, trauma-informed care. This podcast was developed to help normalize conversations about substance use, reduce stigma, and highlight the clinicians, community partners, and local leaders who are providing care in clinics, community spaces, and at patients’ front doors.
Across this eight-episode series, Sounds of Stanly explores how community-rooted care, collaboration, and relationship-building play a critical role in improving outcomes for individuals and families. The conversations reflect a shared commitment to treating substance use like any other medical condition, with dignity, respect, and understanding.
